I have always felt very thin and with few curves, despite eating junk food I could not gain weight. So I started going to the gym, it was then that I felt confident and found motivation in myself. With the help of my trainer, I increased my muscle mass and shaped my figure. For me, it is the best therapy.

It´s a difficult decision…I would say lasagna and pizza!

Level 2 certificate swimming coach

I have been a very successful swimming coach for 7 years, having taken 11-year olds to nationals and medaling, with 5 being placed on the Uganda national swim team, competing in the East African Trials.

Goal setting in swimming is a tad more clear-cut than goal setting as a coach. As much as swimmers jump to the conclusion that your coaches value you for your fast swimming, that’s just not why coaches get into the profession. I love to witness a human grow into a better person because of the lessons imparted through swimming. Yes, absolutely, it’s fun to watch a swimmer achieve a long-awaited and hard-fought goal, but even more satisfying is the deep message felt in that moment—that a massive commitment has a massive payoff and nothing feels as satisfying as a victory, not handed, but earned.

Swimming keeps your heart rate up but takes some of the impact stress off your body. It builds endurance, muscle strength, and cardiovascular fitness. It helps you maintain a healthy weight and a healthy heart and lungs, tones muscles and builds strength.

It’s important for everyone to know water survival skills as well as how to swim. While swimming lessons can’t eliminate the risk of drowning completely, they can keep you safer around water and help to prevent tragic water accidents.

In 2017, I studied Mantras, Yogic Practice, Ayurveda, Pranayama, Anatomy and various forms of meditation with Yogi Dinesh Chander. I am a certified Registered Yoga Teacher (200 Hrs) and authorised by US Yoga Alliance. I started formal teaching 6 months after my certification. I have studied food and nutrition from Stanford School of Medicine, and completed a month long Chakra Meditation with Ritanveshi Foundation. Since 2019, I am studying Ashtanga Yoga at K Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, which is the birthplace of this modern yoga practice.

My other profession is Architect and Urban Planner.

Yoga is a self-discovery, a journey that takes us to a higher level of realization. It has not just helped me to cure of many illnesses but also helped me gain leverage in my architecture and planning profession.

I started practicing yoga in 2008 with my first Guru – my father to cure epilepsy. Through a disciplined routine (Niyama), nutrition, and practice (Asana), I could cure myself under his guidance in one year. I have never stopped since then.

There is no competition in Yoga, only practice. Focus on how you feel in every class and you will be able to define your journey in less than 8 sessions.
